Alan is born and bred in Southend-on-Sea. He qualified in 1967 and started off doing private conveyancing. At the time, as he was the youngster in the firm, Alan had to cover criminal litigation, wills and probate, family matters and civil litigation.
Alan became a partner in 1968, equity partner in 1970, managing partner 1982, senior partner from 1988 until April 2012. He is now an executive consultant with the Firm, and has a varied client base. Alan has a wide range of legal expertise but specialises in commercial conveyancing.
Alan was board member of Estuary Housing Association (EHA) from 2004-2013 providing social housing in Essex and neighbouring counties. He was also president of the Southend and Westcliff Hebrew Congregation from 2006 to 2012 (having previously been Hon Treasurer then Vice President)
He currently chairs Accession Homes Limited which is a wholly owned subsidiary of EHA. In his spare time, Alan enjoys tennis, photography and spending time with his family – including his 8 grandchildren.
