Mental Health Specialist
Tinashe has been in the legal field since November 2009 and joined Jefferies in October 2017 as Head of the Mental Health Department. He also is an Accredited Panel Member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme and an approved Category Supervisor for Mental Health with the Legal Aid Agency (LAA).
Equipped with an LL.B Law (Hons), he has extensive legal experience and expertise in civil liberties with specific focus on Mental Health Law.
Tinashe, as in previous roles, continues to provide specialist advice and conducts advocacy and representation before the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber of the First-Tier Tribunal (formerly the Mental Health Review Tribunal). He also, where appropriate, assists clients at Hospital Managers Review Hearings and Care Programme Approach/s.117 meetings.
His clientele includes young persons, adults and/or including Nearest Relatives where appropriate. He has experience dealing with all civil and forensic sections under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended by the MHA 2007).
Tinashe is a faithful Manchester United fan and occasionally plays football. He partakes in charitable activities when able and supports organisations such as Chaminuka Arts, a Youth Organisation in Zimbabwe that helps young people gain life skills through drama and media. He also is involved with Educ8africa, an NGO that focuses on improving learning experience and environment of people in disadvantaged communities. A Doctor WHO, DC Comics and Marvel fan.
